Buckman Heights and Buckman Terrace Apartments are located in Portland’s Kerns Neighborhood, an ideal location for city living - close to downtown and Lloyd Center, with quiet tree-lined streets, a large city park, great public transportation, and plenty of restaurants and shops.

Lloyd Center and the Lloyd district – This large urban mall and the surrounding district – with two large movie theaters, and a wide range of neighborhood restaurants and retail – are less than a 15-minute walk away.

Neighborhood Amenities – Just across the river from downtown, the close-in eastside neighborhoods are full of old Victorian houses and eclectic commercial districts. The Viscount Ballroom just down the street is one of the most popular dance spots in the city. In the other direction, NE 28th Avenue becoming one of the best-known restaurant districts in the city. There's a lot more, but you'll want to discover it for yourself.

Trails – The Eastbank Esplanade is about 15 blocks east of Buckman Apartments. From there you can walk, skate, rollerblade, or bike on a loop along both sides of the Willamette River. Or, you can head south down the Esplanade to connect with the Springwater Corridor Trails and continue on Portland's 40 Mile Loop.

Buckman Field Park – This 12-acre city park abuts Buckman Terrace. There is a running track, lighted ball fields, a small playground, and plenty of open space to play with your dog or toss a Frisbee.

Portland Tennis Center – Walk across the park to this public tennis center with 8 lighted outdoor courts and 4 indoor courts. The center offers lessons, lockers, ball machine rentals, and senior and co-ed mixers.

Public Transportation4 bus lines run within a few blocks of your front door, stopping about every 5 minutes to take you directly downtown in a matter of minutes. Bus lines serving the Buckman area include: 12 on Sandy, 19 on Glisan, 20 on Burnside, and 70 on 12th Avenue. The Max light rail line stops about 10 blocks away and is free from there to sports events at the rose Quarter or to downtown.

Alternative Transportation – Portland has a great network of bike lanes and bike routes and a number of them run right by our buildings. Both apartments have large indoor bike rooms with bike racks, floor–mounted pumps, and lockers to store your gear. Flexcar keeps two vehicles parked at our buildings.
